More information has come to light regarding Saturday’s multi-vehicle accident involving former SMU receiver Rashee Rice.

According to NBC 5 in Dallas, Rice leased the Lamborghini involved in the crash from a local company. Rice admitted his involvement to the company, Classic Lifestyle, according to the report. Kyle Coker, an attorney representing Classic Lifestyle, also confirmed Rice was in the Lamborghini at the time of the crash and is the only person permitted to drive the car, according to the lease agreement.

“In the past, Mr. Rice had rented at least several vehicles. There were never any driving citations or accidents related to that,” Coker said. “The issue that we have right now is we’ve got a totaled vehicle, and we haven’t heard back as to who’s going to pay for that vehicle. And I understand, there’s, you know, kind of speculation back and forth as far as who’s driving. It doesn’t matter. I mean, we’re looking for accountability and to make sure that our business is made whole here.”

TMZ is also reporting that Rice also owned the Chevrolet Corvette involved in the crash. TMZ has obtained dashcam footage of the crash that appears to show a Corvette and Lamborghini racing on a Dallas freeway. No serious injuries have been reported as a result of the six-vehicle accident.

Law enforcement officials haven’t spoken with Rice or anyone else involved in Saturday’s crash, but a spokesperson for Dallas Police Department confirmed they have spoken with members of Rice’s legal team.

Rice was a second round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s draft and played a critical role in the Chiefs’ second-straight Super Bowl victory.
